Hancock

Posted under Blogging

I was pretty moody these few days, busy like a bee. Feel like taking a day leave to go for a massage or something, but then when I see the tonnes of task to complete makes feeling no choice but to stick my butt on my office chair.

I think it might be the weather, its like suddenly temperature raise up to 35 degrees without any warning. So PC wants me to feel better by accompanying me to watch “Hancock” last night. Well, the show isn’t that bad, like another Superman movie, just that the hero’s uniform looks better. Not red underwear wearing outside, his uniform looks like those one wore in X-Men, quite cool. It was a comedy movie, hahaha..love the part where he really stuff a man’s head into another man’s ass! But there is a twist to the story, so you really must watch!

Today as usually finish my breakfast & start busy checking e-mails, reply e-mails, meeting supplier, doing quotations, analyzing production rejection rate, meetings, meetings, & meetings.

Actually I’m pretty ok working the same routine everyday, I’m just piss off my office air-conditioning till now haven’t work properly & receiving annoying e-mails!!!

Today received a reply from my Japanese customer, I nearly fainted! On Monday I went together with my colleagues to this Japanese customer to resolve quality issues, cause they rejected our products even we manufactured according to what their production manager has approved. Yet, the manager can just don’t admit it, say we must follow his end customer’s approved samples. The reason he gave for signing those samples was to make sure we start manufacture their products! My goodness!!! They are just cheating on us! As previously we had a deal with their company another manager if the foil they produce still has a lot of quality issues, we will not start manufacture until this is resolve.

Nevermind, so in the end they promise to re-inspect the products they has rejected us. Guess what, initial rejected parts was 551pcs, then 2nd round is 671pcs???? Where did the additional parts come from? The other time when we wanted to see the good products as well, but then they said they were shipped out. I really feel like grabbing the manager’s collar & slap him! WAKE UP!!!! How on earth got such people so annoying!

Hai…too tired, my eyes are drawing their curtains.

2 Days Road Trip to HuiZhou

Posted under Daily Adventures

I was suppose to update this way back, not purposely MIA again. There was customer audits, kids sick, preparing investor audit documents! HA! I think 24 hours is not enough for me. Its really very tiring when kids get sick, especially when they gotten cold. Something I don’t like consulting medicinal assistance in China is any illness, doctors always ask patients to go for dripping. For kids as well! My poor kid has to have the needle insert through the head!!! No choice I’m not staying in the city where more choices of clinics or hospital.

Anyway, back to the topic! OK, Hui Zhou is actually between Hangzhou & Huangshan, a very small town (district) but with rich historial background. From Shanghai to Hui zhou takes about 5 hours crazy drive, where we passed by Jiaxing (Famous of its rice dumplings) & Hangzhou.

The scenery was awesome, with all the mountains & rice fields. A good place for a few days getaway, but not much visitors, there were basically 1 or 2 cars on the road when we about to reach Huizhou. There were also not much introduction in English on Hui Zhou, as usually people goes to Huangshan straight away instead of dropping by.

Below are some photos I have taken, didn’t take much cause the weather was wet plus need to carry the kids.

^Must try the rice dumpling! They have lots of varieties. ^_^

^ Taken when the babies are asleep.

^ I was joking with PC to imagine we are in Malaysia highway.

^ See no cars, in-front is my colleagues. Only 2 cars on the highway!

^ Our 1st destination, forgotten the name of it. ^_^

^ Huizhou has lots of this, basically is to honour great people.

^ All the old houses in Huizhou has this, it was said to keep fortune/wealth. As water in Chinese is regarded as wealth, hence, by letting the water/rain falling in, it was believe that the family will be in good fortune.

^ Love this, so calming when looking at it.

^ Now I understand why some Chinese elderly love to grow these plants, cause this thing actually worth RMB 5million. Unbelievable!

^ Does this place looks familiar? hahaha…if you have watch the “Couching Tiger” you will know. Zang Ziyi, bounce on the water & fly away! hahaha..

^ This was the last place we went, a village with all the surname “Bao” (鲍).

I suggest to dropby this place for people going to Huangshan, worth while to take 1/2 a day visiting this place.

As for accommodation, I suggest to stay in Huangshan, more convenience, there are lots of shops & budget hotels there. But must book in advance, otherwise weekend are usually fully book.

Tips of filling up your Vehicles

Posted under Blogging

Recently I received pretty interesting facts from my aunt on how filling up vehicles can actually save on petrol cost. I think its very useful especially now the petrol is so expensive & for those Singaporean cars which are ban from filling up at Malaysia border.

1. Only buy or fill up your car or bike in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold.

All service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. the colder the ground, the sensor the fuel, when it gets warmer petrol expends, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening, the litre is not exactly a litre.

2. When filling up, so not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode

I was told that the trigger has 3 stages - Low, Middle, & High. If on Low stage (which is slow mode), the pumping speed will be slow; minimizing the vapours that are created while pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapour return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some of the liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapour. Those vapours are being sucked up & back into underground storage tank so you’re get less worth for your money.

3. Fill Up when your tank is half full

The more fuel in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space & slower the petrol evaporates. That’s the reason why Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol & the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation.

4. If there is a fuel truck pumping into the storage tanks, stop filling up

It is a believe that petrol is being stirred up as the fuel is being delivered into the storage tanks, & one might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles on the bottom.

Basically I’m too lazy to wake up early to pump my petrol, so I do it late at night; when my kids are asleep. Don’t know whether it works anot. But I do realised everytime I have a full tank, I can travel about 50~80km & no changes on my petrol meter. Unlike the 1st time I filled up in the afternoon, I have to re-fill it less than a week.

For the 2nd tip I don’t have a chance to try it as there is always be someone there to do it in China, I don’t think we are allowed to do it ourselves.

For the 3rd tip, I think its quite worth trying, as my petrol meter run real fast especially when they passed the half indicator.

Why not give it a try, no harm trying. Let me know if it helps.

Goals for June

Posted under Blogging

Have being MIA for quite a while, finally back to action.

Its going to be end of May soon…so Fast! Think back what have I done for the pass few weeks.

Finally gotten my China Driving License

It was pretty easy & cheap, which cost me only about RMB160 plus they give you a booklet which contain the 100 question that will be tested. But one point to mention for the translation of foreign  license in English to Chinese language, the officers at the center can do the translation, don’t really need to go to the Shanghai city to do it. Sad to say only English, other languages still need to go to the authorised association.

My New Honda Fit

Buying cars in China is fairly cheap compared to Singapore, but due to budget limitation, my husband & I just gotten a 1.5L Honda Fit. Well quite reasonable only about RMB120,000 cash (inclusive of insurance). But beware of the quote car dealer is giving, as they don’t really give you a actual purchase amount, they just roughly give you a quote. But then when you decided to buy, so many additional cost which they did not mention.

Preparing for my summer wardrobe

Finally can feel the heatwaves, so decided to add new items into my wardrobe to prepare for the summer. Recently being in love with dresses, those reaches only the knees.

hmmm…not much things accomplished for this month, so decided to set of goals for June.

Pick up my Yoga classes

I have dropped yoga classes since Chinese New Year, I think its time for me to pick up again since pretty alright now. Plus PC keep nagging me for wasting money to sign up the membership which I hardly use.

Finish up my golf course

Yes, haven’t being going to golf course for quite a while. Well not actually my fault, as the course PC & I signed up is for 2 people package, & PC was out-station last few weeks. I can’t go for the course individually. I just left about 6 more lessons, hmmm…that means I can only finish it by July then. Anyway, really need to pick up the skill back, coz everytime my dad comes he will ask me about my golf course. *Stress*

Eat Healthy

Being hospitalize for half day last week due to gastric pain, well not sure whether is it gastric pain. I just felt pain around my stomach, its like all the measles contracted. Doctor couldn’t examine out anything, so I gave me a bags of drip (very commonly practice in China) & some medicine to bring home.

Bring my kids to at least one tourist attraction

For this June, quite a number of outing invitations. Well if nothing goes wrong, I’ll be bring them along.

Setup a database for all my customers

Well, I always want to that, setting a database for each of my customers. We do have a simple one, but I think its really not enough. I really hope to accomplish it by this month, maybe at least half of the customers list.

Finish up at least 1/10 of my stitching

Last year I bought a very big stitching cloth, which its a beautiful red autumn scenry. Until now just only finish a bit. So I hope to at least finish up 1/10 of the picture.
