What a Bloody Week

*Mind my language*

Yes its really a bloody week for me!

1st I went for this body massage which was recommended by boss, well took a oil massage.

hahhaa..suddenly feel like a tai tai, being serve by people is such a awesome feeling. Not finish yet, after the massage I felt pain at my back, near my waist. Boss said its normal, it will be alright after a few days. hmmm…but it has been 6 days already! I still can feel the pain!!! Idiot!

2nd I went for blood donation, first time in my life donated blood. I was pretty excited that day, you know its like a little kid going for outing. *Weirdo* As usual typical China people, trying to jump Q. Ha! Stacey Lim not easily being bullied! So I performed my typical Singaporean Act! Complaint! I scolded the people that cut my Q, ask them to Q behind. *Victory Sign* Then less than 10 minutes, my factory workers jump Q ! So ashamed!

Then typical Stacey Lim, nag & nag, keep complaining to Sotong how uncivilized these people are…blar..blar..blar..

Sotong being nasty said :” This is China, China is like that! If you want to complaint, go complaint yourself, I go fetch the car. Otherwise you can wait for everyone to leave & complaint to the Co-organiser!”

I was so angry that I started having cold wars with him, refuse to talk to him at all.

3rd Just after 2 days of my blood donation, my “Aunty” came! AH!!!! you know those few days of each month, woman has to suffer!

 Really Bloody WEEK!!!!

Paid CNY1128 to Starve My Daughter

Yesterday was quite a day for me. Early in the morning, I went to get my blood test. Well a normal procedures for blood donation. Yes, I have volunteer myself to donate my precises blood.

Every year the regional government will issue a letter to each corporate in my area to request for blood donations, & its a must! For my case, I just volunteer willingly, even though the number of donors are sufficient. All my colleagues were very surprise & suggest me not to donate, coz I was too skinny! hahaaa…actually I’m having healthy weight, 46kg for 158cm tall lady. Anyway, everyone are suppose to gather at this hall to do all testing & registration.

^See…everyone crowded around the table to register!

It was my first time being there, to my surprise, it was so disorganise! Such a mess! There is simply no instructions noticeboard on the procedures, no help-desk as well. All I saw was every stations were crowded with people (typical way of how the locals act). The air was packed with smoke (people smoking in the hall) & some weird smell. I almost fainting after standing for just 15 minutes. I cannot understand why the organiser don’t call off those smokers, let them sitting there to smoke, no one request them to Q up as well.

Anyway, we manage to finish our registration, some health check & blood testing after being 2nd hand smoker for 45minutes.

Then I rush off to pick-up my daughter - Angela to HongQiao for doctor appointment. She just suddenly loss her appetite for a week, she refuses to take any solid food, only want milk. So I thought she might had some worms inside her stomach or gotten any disease. At first I thought was just teething causing her to lose appetite, but then the moment she cries when solid food was presented to her, I sensed something was wrong. Anyway, I brought her to a international Pediatrics (very Expensive), the doctor asked a lot of questions (well its normal). I asked her if there is any medicine to improve her appetite, she said “Just have to starve your daughter”! Upon see my eyes popping out, she continued “Reduce her milk intake, as 1 year old kid milk intake is 420ml per day. So one in the morning & night is enough, the rest of the day should be having solid food to gain all the nutrition they need. ” So I asked her if baby will be hungry, she said “yes, thats the purpose, let her feel hungry, no small snacks or milk & they will obediently eat solid food. Just have to use this way to force them to eat. As Kids now are very clever they know if they don’t eat there is still milk for them.”

So I went back home & instructed my A-yi. Before I left for work, I told Angela “Wan Yu, from now onwards, no more milk for you, you only can drink in the morning & before you sleep, if you don’t eat you will feel hungry, if you feel hungry still no milk for you. So you must eat.” Then she started change face to make small cries….hahhaha…she understands.

That evening, when I came back asked A-yi if Angela has eaten anything, & She did! hahhaa..well that method really works! A-yi told me that immediately I left, she brought Angela to the kitchen, told her ” Wan yu, be good ok, you must eat something. A-yi will not give you anymore milk, if you don’t eat you will be hungry.” Angela started to make small cries again, but this time round she finally opens up her mouth to eat. hahhahaa…

That same evening, my husband & I went to have my favourite stream boat - 豆捞访

^ I ordered my all time favourite, Hot Pot.

My favourite style of having stream boat, well, its like having high class stream boat. Each one has their own pot in which there are 5 kinds of soup base to choose. For sauces, its DIY, meaning, you can just mix whatever you like. The environment is classy & clean, service is good, & the food is fresh. They make fresh meat & fish balls everyday, so you can’t find those frozen balls around. Thats why I love this restaurant so much! For the price, to me is reasonable,  simply you pay what you get. They have lots of branches around Shanghai, which can be sourced online. If you really going, I highly recommend their prawn balls, really must try! Otherwise, you could order their mixture of all the different meat & seafood balls.

ERA a Show you must not miss

Yesterday, we went to watch a show called “ERA - Intersection of Time” with a couple in the Shanghai City. Its really a show which I’ll highly recommend to everyone.

Everyone knows that China is famous of their Chinese acrobatic arts, but this is different, it has a combination of arts, musical, as well as modern technology. Does it sounds familiar to those who are fans of Cirque Du Soleil? Yes, I really felt like watch Cirque Du Soleil, still there are differents. Cirque Du Soleil has more colorful custom & more range of musical being played, on the other hand ERA focus more on Chinese origin, the music are played live with Chinese instruments.

To my surprise, ERA’s Choreographer Ms Debra Brown was actually also one of the Choreographer of Cirque Du Soleil. No wonder both shows are so alike.

Through out the whole show, my heart was nearly pumping out, there were too many exciting & dangerous acrobatic actions. Everyone was really amazed that there were so many “WAH…Oh My GOD….WAH”…plus cheering as well.

The Show was about 1 hours 30 mintues, which there is a 10 minutes break in between. There was really no chance for you to feel bored at all. From the start, it just grab your attention & keen to see what’s next.

Packing My Mood to go Back

Wasn’t able to do exactly what I have planned for last weekend, coz Belinda (my youngest daughter) was down with fever. Luckily enough, her appetite was alright & she still can run around the house. After recovered, her body develop rashes around her stomach area. Then I went to research online, her case was called Roseola, a raised or flat, rosy-pink rash on torso and neck that spreads to arms, legs, and face. Most common between age 6 months and 3 years, which commonly happen after Fever (often above 103 degrees F) for three to five days.

To confirm it, I went to a doctor to verify, well I’m right! *Hmmm..I can be a mummy’s doctor*

Anyway, no medicine for this, just need to wait to fade off.

As usually my husband & I went to catch a movie - Red Cliff Part 1 during the weekdays when my ayi is around. The movie was great, not boring at all, in fact very humor. I will highly recommend people to watch this movie. I’m totally amaze by the art of wars shown in the movie, its really unlike those English war movies keep showing killing sences. This movie uses brain!! hahhaa…I’m not kidding. Watch it when you are free.

My husband was really happy that I like “The Three Kingdom” story, coz I’m really not that kind of person that likes this kind of movies. So he suggested to buy me books of the Three Kingdom, well, I rejected, coz I rather watch movie or VCD than reading. *Lazy bum*

Awaiting for Red Cliff Part 2!

Chinese Style of Starbucks

Finally got out from the “Oven”, coz the air-condition in my office finally got fix. The weather in Shanghai is terribly hot, its not those normal hot in Malaysia or Singapore, here is dry & hot, I can feel my skin burn if I stand under the sun for 5 minutes. I hate summer in Shanghai, the heat just makes me feeling irritated.

These few days were busy with meetings, one after the other. So at the end of the day, I can feel energy totally drain out. Hence I usually look grumpy at the end of the day, keep nagging my husband carelessness driving. Still one thing I’m really looking forward to is going back Singapore for my vacation! I so miss the food, people & shopping! This time round bring my kids along with my husband, so excited!

I manage to get really good deal from Singapore airlines, only CYN2000 for 1 adult ticket but then the tax & surcharge was really expensive, cost me CYN1090, my goodness. The oil price increase really makes a very big impact on our lives.

One of our way of saving our electricity bills is to go somewhere that serves drinks & air-condition. Our usual hangout place is Starbucks, but their opening hours only till 10pm. So we spot another good place, not drinking coffee, instead a place for good tea & small bites – Qian Tang Cha Ren 钱堂茶人.

The one located near our house is the sub-branch, its main one is located in Suzhou, its where this brand was originated. I can still remember the 1st time I came across this shop was in Suzhou, like the atmosphere, very ancient design, bricks, wood cavings, small man made bridge with fish ponds. Their tea is quite pricy, coz they have included the buffets, which serve nuts, desserts, fruits, small bits.  With the soft music & smooth lighting, its really a nice to place to relax & calm your soul.

^ PC trying to act “yan tao” in front of the camera!

^ Some bites that I have picked.

^ This is really very eye catching whenever I come here.

Hancock

I was pretty moody these few days, busy like a bee. Feel like taking a day leave to go for a massage or something, but then when I see the tonnes of task to complete makes feeling no choice but to stick my butt on my office chair.

I think it might be the weather, its like suddenly temperature raise up to 35 degrees without any warning. So PC wants me to feel better by accompanying me to watch “Hancock” last night. Well, the show isn’t that bad, like another Superman movie, just that the hero’s uniform looks better. Not red underwear wearing outside, his uniform looks like those one wore in X-Men, quite cool. It was a comedy movie, hahaha..love the part where he really stuff a man’s head into another man’s ass! But there is a twist to the story, so you really must watch!

Today as usually finish my breakfast & start busy checking e-mails, reply e-mails, meeting supplier, doing quotations, analyzing production rejection rate, meetings, meetings, & meetings.

Actually I’m pretty ok working the same routine everyday, I’m just piss off my office air-conditioning till now haven’t work properly & receiving annoying e-mails!!!

Today received a reply from my Japanese customer, I nearly fainted! On Monday I went together with my colleagues to this Japanese customer to resolve quality issues, cause they rejected our products even we manufactured according to what their production manager has approved. Yet, the manager can just don’t admit it, say we must follow his end customer’s approved samples. The reason he gave for signing those samples was to make sure we start manufacture their products! My goodness!!! They are just cheating on us! As previously we had a deal with their company another manager if the foil they produce still has a lot of quality issues, we will not start manufacture until this is resolve.

Nevermind, so in the end they promise to re-inspect the products they has rejected us. Guess what, initial rejected parts was 551pcs, then 2nd round is 671pcs???? Where did the additional parts come from? The other time when we wanted to see the good products as well, but then they said they were shipped out. I really feel like grabbing the manager’s collar & slap him! WAKE UP!!!! How on earth got such people so annoying!

Hai…too tired, my eyes are drawing their curtains.
