Almost a perfect Break

It as being a while since my last update. Anyway, I went back to Singapore for a small break last week. Yes, its really short, just 6 days only! As I brought my kids & husband along, I thought it will be a hassle for me to bring them out to catch up dinner with my friends. So I decided to organise a ‘High Tea’ gathering in at my parent’s place.

It was really great to catch up with my Secondary & Uni friends, its like haven’t seen them for ages. Family & friends are whom I missed the most when I’m working overseas. Really envy my girlfriends where they can catch up for dinner or a drink once a week. Argh!!!! I want to go back Singapore !!!* Dreaming*

So one day of catching up, the rest of the holiday were bring my kids to Singapore Zoo & Bird Park. I know its pretty early to bring them over, not sure whether will they remember anot. But I think its good to let kids expose to all kinds of things since young. They are like super babies, flying here & there will us, really fortunate! Kids now having better life…hai…

^ Group Photos with my Uni Friends! Ah! Forgotten to take with my Secondary School Friends! All Handsome guys & pretty girls…what a pity!

^ Went to the Zoo the next day, see how happy they are! Didn’t let them took any photos with the animals, scared later my kids torture them..hahah..

^ So in the end, we took with a fake kangaroo.

^ As usual Ms Belinda love to act cute in-front of the camera.

^ Then I realise they love the pool more than the animals.

^ Angela: Mummy, I need to poo, can I release here?

Belinda: Help…Help…get me out of there!!

^ That night we celebrated Mr Big Sotong (PC)’s 31st Birthday.

^ They just can’t wait to try the delicious cake…kids…

^ 3rd day brought them to have a new hair cut & bought a new swim suits. hahaha..love their new hair style…so cute.

^ See they are so obedient, let me take photos of them.

^ Hi…3 beautiful ladies…

^ 4th Day brought them to Jurong Bird Park.

^ See…eating again! Busy enjoying their apple tart.

^ Another fake animal! hahaha..

Why I say its almost a perfect break, well I didn’t do too much shopping this time round. Just had a new hair style, bought lots of “The Face Shop” products, a set of swim wear, nothing much. Not any single clothes or shoes, or bags.

Quite disappointed & depressed, so to ease away, I shop like crazy in Shanghai. Since there is 50% discount, bought like 5 sets of new clothes, 5 pairs of shoes! Total just cost me less than S$300…worth it!

2 Days Road Trip to HuiZhou

I was suppose to update this way back, not purposely MIA again. There was customer audits, kids sick, preparing investor audit documents! HA! I think 24 hours is not enough for me. Its really very tiring when kids get sick, especially when they gotten cold. Something I don’t like consulting medicinal assistance in China is any illness, doctors always ask patients to go for dripping. For kids as well! My poor kid has to have the needle insert through the head!!! No choice I’m not staying in the city where more choices of clinics or hospital.

Anyway, back to the topic! OK, Hui Zhou is actually between Hangzhou & Huangshan, a very small town (district) but with rich historial background. From Shanghai to Hui zhou takes about 5 hours crazy drive, where we passed by Jiaxing (Famous of its rice dumplings) & Hangzhou.

The scenery was awesome, with all the mountains & rice fields. A good place for a few days getaway, but not much visitors, there were basically 1 or 2 cars on the road when we about to reach Huizhou. There were also not much introduction in English on Hui Zhou, as usually people goes to Huangshan straight away instead of dropping by.

Below are some photos I have taken, didn’t take much cause the weather was wet plus need to carry the kids.

^Must try the rice dumpling! They have lots of varieties. ^_^

^ Taken when the babies are asleep.

^ I was joking with PC to imagine we are in Malaysia highway.

^ See no cars, in-front is my colleagues. Only 2 cars on the highway!

^ Our 1st destination, forgotten the name of it. ^_^

^ Huizhou has lots of this, basically is to honour great people.

^ All the old houses in Huizhou has this, it was said to keep fortune/wealth. As water in Chinese is regarded as wealth, hence, by letting the water/rain falling in, it was believe that the family will be in good fortune.

^ Love this, so calming when looking at it.

^ Now I understand why some Chinese elderly love to grow these plants, cause this thing actually worth RMB 5million. Unbelievable!

^ Does this place looks familiar? hahaha…if you have watch the “Couching Tiger” you will know. Zang Ziyi, bounce on the water & fly away! hahaha..

^ This was the last place we went, a village with all the surname “Bao” (鲍).

I suggest to dropby this place for people going to Huangshan, worth while to take 1/2 a day visiting this place.

As for accommodation, I suggest to stay in Huangshan, more convenience, there are lots of shops & budget hotels there. But must book in advance, otherwise weekend are usually fully book.

Amazing Basketball Match

Last week we had an amazing basketball match –> Our company vs. Customer!

Although we have lost, but our guys really play real hard & damn good! They actually practise almost everyday for the past 2 weeks to get ready for the match. *See how much effort they have put in*.

^ Our team!

^Photos were taken before the match, you know before they look messy with sweat all over.

^ Match starting!

So what we do? hmmm…we are cheer leaders!

^ See we even holding China Flags! hmmm…how come not our company’s flag?

^ See my 2 little ones are also supportive, helping us to cheer.

My team members were very cute, they asked me before the match whether should they try to win the match. hmm…good question. So I just replied, do you all want cost down? hahhahaa…

*This coming weekend going for a road trip, 2 days 1 night to this place call Huizhuo. Its suppose to be a 5 hours drive, whereby its near the Yellow Mountain (Huang Shan). So exciting bring my 2 little ones as well!

Happy Mothers’ Day

Yesterday was Mothers’ Day! hahha…first time realised Mothers’ Day is so meaningful to me. Becoz this is my 1st Mothers’ Day celebrating with my kids. Although my kids still young to make me cards, send me flowers (Oh ya, I sent a bouquet of flowers to my mother, she loves it! Technology is such a good friend of mine!) or gifts, to make it meaningful, I decided to bring them to the Aquarium Park in Shanghai.

So morning getting them dress up, love doing that for them!

^ 1st one to dress up is Belinda, see she so adorable!! Cannot resist to take more photos of her.

^ She love people praising her, especially say she is pretty! hahha…kids!

^ This is Angela! hahah..a-yi clip her hair in the wrong direction!

^ This should be the correct way….so cute right!

^ Less than 5 mins, Angela’s hair become messy again!

^ Belinda is posing again! She love taking photos!

^ Belinda do have un-glam photos as well, see! Ask her to pose, she just squall like that!

^ See another un-glam photo of her! hahah!

^ Angela’s un-glam photo!

So we are ready to set off to the Aquarium Park in Shanghai, PuDong!

Its actually quite expensive, adults ticket cost me RMB120/person. Luckily my kids haven’t reach 0.8 meters, so FOC!

A-yi & I went in to have our lunch, so hungry! While the kids was in their baby trolley waiting.

^ Both waited until too bored!

^ “Mummy, can you stop taking photos!! When can we go in??”

^ Belinda looking very excited with the colorful fishes swimming around.

^ Angela very shy in camera, see Belinda trying to give her cute pose again!

^ Their attention were only for a while, then Miss Belinda went to play with her trolley instead! *Faint* So what’s Miss Angela doing??

^ Playing with her fingers!!

^ Push them to look around.

^ Family photos! hai…no time to even put on make-up!

^ So I went to explore myself. Found this sea creature very interesting, its call the Horseshoe Crab. Well, its not a crab instead its call the living fossil as evolved & survived over the past 4 hundred years! My god…older than a turtle! But I find this interesting becoz they look like those army helmets! hahhaa..

^ This is the Giant Japanese Spider Crab! hahha..really looks like a spider! Anyone want chili crab for dinner??

^ Jelly Fish!! So cute!

^ Lion Fish, very commonly found in Asia!

^ Not too sure what fish is this, but I find this very interesting with all the spots on its body!

^ Lastly spotted this, its shows how the baby shark develop in the eggs. Its really alive! They are actually swimming around, within the eggs.

^ So when they grow bigger, they will look like this.

*So it was then the end of the trip, we just went in for 3 hrs!

^ When we got back home, it was only 3pm, so I brought them down to the park to play.

^ Angela busy playing with the ball while Belinda hunting for treasure within the grass.

^ Its really good for the kids to play in the nature.

^ Belinda happily playing on the grass.

^ Angela as well! They usually play for at least an hour then have to “force” them back!

^ Belinda again!

^ Quite like the special effect of this photo, have you notice the size? Belinda (Right side) seems to be bigger than Angela (Left side). They are actually the same, its just Belinda is nearer to the camera. Amazing.

^ Time to change role, Belinda went to play with the ball while Angela do the treasure hunting.

^ Angela changes her mind, decided to play with the balls!

So that whole afternoon, we spend most of the time at the part. Nothing fantastic happened, yet I still feel happiness.

Thanks for this special gift my 2 little princess.

TASTY..TASTY..TASTY

Last week I suddenly have the urge of having a juicy steak, so called my colleague to accompany me to have it near my house. But he said the one near my house not good enough, so we specially travelled 1 hour to the city area, Xu Jia Hui (徐家汇) & visited one of the popular steak house in Shanghai - they call themselves TASTY !

TASTY is originated from Taiwan, where they are well-known for their affordable & tasty steak dinner sets. They really serves the full course & in Shanghai, it only costs RMB98!!

Despite the meal is so cheap, their atmosphere, decoration & table display doesn’t lose to any steak house restaurant, they are so neat & tidy, comfortable & romantic as well.

Anyway, I was too shy to walk around taking photos, so just took a few shots of the surrounding from where I’m sitting.

I love those crystal bead curtains, wish to have one & put it in my bedroom~

Lets see what we have ordered. So for the Antipasto, we have 2 options to choose:

Italian Beef pancake OR Baked Mushrooms with Garlic and Cheese + Toasts

So we each order one to try.

This is Italian Beef Pancake! Well nothing fantastic about this dish, taste like pizza to me with a little spicy for the meat.

Stacey@Chef Rate: 5/10

This is Baked Mushrooms with Garlic and Cheese + Toasts. I didn’t take the toast bread cause my colleague was too hungry so he just grab the bread & stuff it into his mouth straight away. Actually the toast is suppose to eat it with this sauce. For myself I preferred this, the taste of the garlic & cheese blends very well, with a few slices of fresh mushroom. Yum..Yum…I highly recommend this for the starter to warm your stomach.

Stacey@Chef Rate: 8/10

The 2nd course will be the salad, below are the options:

Fresh Shrimp with Bamboo Shoot OR Sashimi with Fresh Salad OR Sliced Raw Beef with Special Sauce OR Hard Boiled Eggs with Mash Potato Or Fruit Salads

We chosen Sliced Raw Beef with Special Sauce & Sashimi with Fresh Salad

This is Sliced Raw Beef with Special Sauce. This is really the best salad I had so far! The thin slice raw beef is really like just taken out from the freezer, its so solid yet so tender. Once I put it into my mouth, my goodness it really melts & I can taste the freshness of it. I highly recommend to those who can eat beef raw.

Stacey@Chef Rate: 10/10

This is the Sashimi with Fresh Salad. The sashimi taste fresh except that they only gave about 4 ~5 slices of it. I think it is suitable for people who will like something light for salad.

Stacey@Chef Rate: 5/10

The 3rd Course will be the SOUP! Options as below:

Chicken Mushroom Soup OR Creamy Fish Soup OR Creamy Clam Soup OR French OX Tail Soup OR French Snail Soup

We chosen French OX Tail Soup & French Snail Soup.

This is the French Snail Soup! Taste really good & creamy..yum..yum…but I find abit too spicy, I think the chef has over-put the black pepper.

Stacey@Chef Rate: 8/10

I forgotten to take the photo of the French OX tail Soup, anyway, my colleague said it tasted normal, nothing special.

Stacey@Chef Rate: 5/10

The 4th Course will be the STEAK! hahha…finally, I’m like almost done, feeling quite full by the time I finished my 3rd course. Anyway, they have STEAK, LAMB & SEAFOODfor us to choose. Come to TASTY of course must try their steak

Don’t they look gorgeous!! I chosen medium raw, the steak is so tender & juicy. *Feeling Hungry Now*

The restaurant is really very generous, the size of the steak is really big, I can’t even finish it. My colleague has to try to squeeze it into his stomach. *He keeps adjusting his pant* hahhaa..

Stacey@Chef Rate: 10/10

In between the meals, the waiter will also serve each of us a small glass of Fruit Sorbet.

The 5th Course will be DESSERT! At that moment, I can feel my stomach is going to burst if I take in 2 teaspoon of the dessert! *Kidding*

They have a few Dessert for us to choose as well, Black Forest Mousse Cake OR Caramel Pumpkin Pudding OR Fresh Milk Pudding in Shell OR Passion Fruit Jelly OR Green Tea Mousse.

We chosen Black Forest Mousse Cake & Caramel Pumpkin Pudding

This is Caramel Pumpkin Pudding! My colleague had this, I didn’t try it coz I want to keep my small little space in the stomach to eat my Black Forest Mousse Cake.

Stacey@Chef Rate: 7/10 (Contributed from my colleague).

Finally my Black Forest Mousse Cake arrive!! Yummy! The Mousse taste real smooth & yet not too sweet, really suitable for me who loves chocolate but cautions about my weight.

Stacey@Chef Rate: 8/10

Lastly, they served us After Meal Drinks, they have coffee, tea & soft drinks for you to choose. I have chosen the Coffee.

My God! So much Whip Cream!! Love the cup, its so cute & huggable.

Well, the whole dinner took us 2 hours to finish. I considered pretty fast, but we have to, as we need to catch a train back to our place. Overall I’m really satisfied with the dinner, although have to trave 1 hour to downtown, but I guess its worth it, especially after a day of hard work, we should give ourselves a treat.

The Pink Lady

Today is really a beautiful sunny day, especially last few days it has been wet & cold. So went for a walk at the park near my house, then I realised the roses outside my apartment’s lobby have fully blossom, they look so sweet & lovely.

I’m always fascinated with flowers, & its really my weak point. I still remember my ex-boyfriend use to buy me flowers whether he makes me angry, Hahaha..it works, I forgave & forgotten what happen.

Anyway, took some photos of these pink ladies.

I also took some of the photos at park near my house, where my apartment is facing a very lovely man-made lake.

I’m staying in one of the blocks..

After leaving the home (Singapore) for so long, PC & I miss alot of food back home. But its so hard to find at subburb, we usually travel down to the city to give a treat ourselves. But travel down to city takes us about 1 hour, so we usually cook ourselves instead. Today we tried one of the curry paste I bought in Singapore.

We put chicken wing, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, & PC’s favourite “dao po”!

At that moment, I felt I’m back home again…so miss them..

Stacey@Shanghai

Back to Shanghai again! Yap, it was only a short trip back to Singapore. Actually I wanted to stay longer, but due to workload, I can’t extend my stay. Luckily for me as well, as there is so many things that needs to be settled, if I have stayed longer my boss will kill me! Ha! (Just kidding), my boss treats me very well.

This trip I only manage to meet up with some of my Uni Girlfriends, had a dinner with them & celebrate my guy friend’s birthday (which he said wasn’t his birthday party, it was his colleague. ) Anyway, advance birthday for him!

Let me introduce to our Pooh Gang! Actually there are 4 members, Pooh, Tigger, Piglet & Eeyore.

Pooh (Real Name Melissa) is currently in Australia, Tigger (Real Name Denise) on the left hand corner of the picture, Eeyore (Real Name Evon) in the middle of the picture & lastly Piglet, which me on the right hand corner.

Pretty Little Evon & Me~

Denise & Evon..good sisters!

Suddenly realise Evon forgotten to give me the photo I’ve take with Denise.

A pub which we chilled out after the dinner. My Goodness..my face always look like a lobster when I start drink!

So sorry for those I haven’t met up with, my schedule was really very tight. I owe you guys a meal! ;)

It was really a shopping spree for me, took my younger sister to buy stuff, then ended up I bought a digital camera, 2 outfits for summer. The next day went shopping with my mum, to buy coffee, curry paste, blar blar blar..cause I can’t find good ones in Shanghai. I usually go back with a empty luggage but comes back with all sorts of food, clothes, shoes, its like any moment the luggage is going to burst. I bought a few nice outfits from Parkway Parade, below is one of the outfit.

I bought the whole outfit at GG>5, like the color of the top, & the pants really make me feel so Slim! Ha! My sister was complaining about the price, she finds it too expensive. To me its worth it especially when I know the size I’m wearing is “S” for pants. Really haven’t heard that for a year, wearing a Size “S” pants for me was like a dream which might not be fulfilled. Yet, GG>5 makes my dreams come true. Seriously speaking their cutting really can show a lady’s best figure.

I’ll blog more on the clothes I have bought in my next entry.

Did you realise something different about me? hahaha…I had a hair extension! My husband was really cute, he asked me:

PC: *keep staring* Darling was your previous hair so long? (He was really confuse how come my hair became so long).

ME: What you think? If I tell you I went to this salon which has a special chemical & I put on my head, then stand into a room which has a special light that can speed up my hair grown process, would you believe?

PC: *Eyes Popping out any moment* REALLY! You serious? WOW..

See how cute my husband is.. So the moral of the story is my husband really trusted what I told him, that’s the reason why I always like to make fun of him. *Wicked little Stacey*

A closer look at my new hairstyle..

My mum was saying the length of the hair was too long & it doesn’t suits me, well, I guess its still alright.

My sister wasn’t use to my new hairstyle, they say I look like those Ghost acting in the Chinese Movies. *Fainted*

This hair extension was done in NK Works, which I didn’t know my house nearby has one of their branch, so went to Queensway to do it. My god, half an hrs drive, plus I lost my way, so took me about an hour to reach. The process took about 2 hours for the extension & coloring about 1.5hrs. But the color wasn’t that matching with my real hair, so the next day I went to the one near my house. At least now the color difference is not that obvious. Taking care of the hair wasn’t that easy, I can’t wash the hair the way I like, I have to be extra careful & blow dry before I sleep. If I’m careful enough, I’m about to maintain it about 4 months or even more. So lets see how long I can sustain until.

Super Foot Massage

Just came back from a foot massage! So Shiok… When you visit China, you should try their foot massage, they are so popular among the tourist & even the locals. But take note the price varies, depending on which shop you go to. Usually Price is about RMB68~120, depending on the package you take. There is also special packages for guys (Heard from my dad & PC), where the girls give “special” services, but the price is about RMB500/person.

My Colleagues & I went for a message after our golf practise & dinner, as we are near the sub-urban, so the one we went to super cheap. It cost us about RMB30, which is about S$6, & its so worth it. The massage duration is about 1 hour, first a lady will bring in a pail of hot water (Sometimes is herbal). Then they will give a body massage while you are sitting, this takes about 10 mins, follow up the foot massage. Now my feet feel so relax & pamper!
